The Standards- Music with a Message
Testimonials:
"The Standards" is still holding the Title as "The Best Program" we have had in Coffee County for our students. If I can find the funds, I want them back this year. Thanks," Brenda Brown- Coffee County Schools Manchester, TN
"I have worked full time at the CAM-PLEX Heritage Center since 1995. In that time I have seen many artists and residencies. The Standards and the work they did in our school system was second to none. They developed a rapport with the students that immediately gave them credibility - someone for the students to look up to and listen to. This group appeals to old and young." Phyllis Colpitts-Theater Manager Gilette WY
MUSIC WITH A MESSAGE:
Performing in 45 states to over 500,000 students from Elementary to High School, The Standards are being hailed as one of the hottest up and coming musical groups of today. Bringing a cappella music to new heights with their unique Drug Awareness Program, this National Award winning group is considered one of the best school residencies in the country.
Whether it's appearing on National TV in Hawaii, or touring with Milton Creagh's International Drug Awareness Program "Enough is Enough," The Standards are fast becoming one of the most sought after singing groups in the country. THE STANDARDS are five brothers from Nashville, all eagle scouts, ranging in age from 23 to 33, with an impressive five octave vocal range. They feature energetic choreography, audience interaction, comedy, the sounds of yesterday and today, and many original songs that will make you smile. They intertwine subtle messages about helping each other with songs like Lean On Me, they get the students singing along to Brown Eyed Girl and they even get the audience to mimic jungle sounds to Lion Sleeps Tonight.
High School and Middle School Shows
In the 50 minute Middle and High School show, the drug message comes in a story about a close friend who ends his life due to drug abuse. The story is topped off with an original song about losing your best friend, which always brings tears to many in the audience.
Elementary Show
The 40 minute Elementary show includes musical games about working as a team, being a good friend, and of course, SAY NO TO DRUGS. The group has the unique talent to present a wholesome message that is compassionate, but not preachy, and it's all performed totally a cappella, without the use of any instruments. Even the drums are produced, using only their vocal chords.
